Preferred addresses are set within your Constituent Preference Centre under the preferred Channel setting, and allows you to respect a constituent’s wishes by staying in contact with them by their preferred way.
Depending on the data within the constituent's record, Donorfy allows you to set the preferred contact details in the following ways, listed by the drop-down box in the following order:

The selection chosen as the preferred channel will determine what is populated within the data when it is presented within Constituent Lists and downloaded to Excel.
Do not contact
No details will be displayed within the preferred contact fields
Note - this option does not stop data from being synced with Mailchimp - see the section titled 'Constituent Profiles that are set as Do Not Contact' here: What does the Donorfy to Mailchimp sync do?
Email - selected as the preferred channel
Where an email address is selected as the preferred contact method channel, the output in the List will be:
- The preferred email address
- Preferred Address details will link to the tab which directly relates to that email
Address - selected as the preferred channel
Where an address has been selected as the preferred contact method channel, the output in the List will be:
- The preferred address
- Preferred email address will be the email from the tab which directly relates to that address
