Allowing Purposes in Web Widgets

Donorfy's Web Widgets allow you to add allowed or blocked Purposes to Constituent Profiles added or updated via a Web Widget - to use this feature you need to make some changes to the HTML generated for the Web Widget.

The details of the allowed or blocked Purposes you want to add are stored in 2 hidden fields in the Web Widget HTML - called AllowedTags and BlockedTags.

The Purpose you want to allow or block is identified as a string comprising the word Purpose & the Purpose name with an underscore between the two - for example:

  • to allow a Purpose called 'Fundraising' you would add Purpose_Fundraising into Active Tags field - e.g. <input type="hidden" id="ActiveTags" value="Purpose_Fundraising" />

  • to block a purpose called 'Events' you would add Purpose_Events into Blocked Tags field - e.g. <input type="hidden" id="BlockedTags" value=”Purpose_Events" />

The Purpose name must match the name from the list of Purposes in your Donorfy - similar to the example below:

You can display dropdowns or checkboxes to allow people to choose the Purposes you choose to display - see the example in this article for more information
