Two Factor Authentication (2FA)

Follow

Two factor authentication is an additional security feature designed to help prevent unauthorised access to your Donorfy by asking you to enter a code generated by your phone when you sign in.

To use two factor authentication you need an authenticator app installed on your phone - we recommend you use either the Microsoft Authenticator app for iPhone, Android or Windows Phone or the Google Authenticator app for iPhone or Android.

Note that if you have access to more than one Donorfy then when you enable two factor authentication it will be used to protect all the Donorfys you have access to.

Setting Up Two Factor Authentication

  • If you don't already have an authenticator app you need to install the app as mentioned above
  • Sign in to Donorfy and click on the blue icon with your initials - located at the top right of your screen
  • From the 'Manage your Profile' form displayed click on the Enable Two-factor Authentication button
  • Open the authenticator app on your phone
    • Press the button in the authenticator app to add a new account - refer to the help for your app for more information about that
    • Use the app to scan the QR Code image displayed in Donorfy
  • Your authenticator app will then display a code, enter the code into Donorfy and press the Enable Two-factor Authentication button

Signing in to Donorfy

When you sign in to Donorfy enter your email address and password as normal and press Sign In, you will then be asked to enter the verification code - open the authentication app on your phone and enter the verification code displayed by the app then press Sign In.

If you want to stop requesting verification codes when signing in to a particular computer you can tick the box 'Stop asking for verification codes on this device' during the sign in - you must enter a verification code to complete the current sign in but you will not have to enter a verification code for subsequent sign ins.
