To enable the self-service features relating to contact preference selections, you must first have the professional plan.
Next, you will need to ensure that you have linked your email system to Donorfy and have placed the web widget on your website.
Once these stages have been completed, you can enable the self-service features within Donorfy:
Ensure that the purposes that you would like to be displayed within the public facing Preference Update Form are active so that constituents will be able to select them.
Configure the Preferences Update Settings, as described below:
These settings allow you to customise the instructions when someone requests a link to update their communication preferences and the wording which they will see on the website form.
Enter the details for Preference Update Widget
- Preference Link Request Wording - this is optional and will be displayed above the field where people enter their email address to request a link to update their preferences
- E.g. Enter your email and press Send - we will email you a link to allow you to update your preferences.
- Preference Link Sent Wording - this text is displayed when the link has been emailed
- E.g. We've sent you an email! Just open it and click on the link to get to your preference settings. Any questions, call us on 01234 567890.
- Preference Link Not Sent Wording - this text is displayed when there has been a problem sending the link
- E.g. Ooops! There's a problem sending you a link - please call us on 01234 567890 or contact us using the contact form.
Enter the details for the Preference Update Form
- Email from name
- E.g. Supporter Care
- Email from address - the email address that the preference email will be sent from
- E.g test@test.com
- Preferences Email Wording - this text is included in the email sent with the link to update preferences
- E.g. Hi! This is the email you requested. If you did not request it please ignore it! Any questions, please call us on 01234 567890.
- Customer Logo Url - the url for your logo that will be included in the update preferences email and shown on the preference update form - it is optional
- Preferences Link Confirmation Button Url - the url people will be directed to after the update preferences email has been sent

- Preference Form Heading Wording - this text is displayed as the heading text on the Preferences form
- E.g. Please update your preferences below
- Preference Form Instructions Wording - this text is displayed as the user instructions on the Preferences form
- E.g. Please select from the below
- Preferences Updated Thank You Wording - this text is displayed when the update has been successfully applied
- E.g. Thank you for letting us know your preferences - we will update our records
- Preferences Updated Invalid Wording - this text is displayed when there is a problem applying the update
- E.g. We seem to have a problem updating your preferences - please call us on 01234 567890 instead
- Preference Form Privacy Policy Url - the url for the Preferences form privacy policy - it is optional
- Preference Update Campaign - this is the campaign associated with the update - it is optional
- This is a drop down box of the active campaigns within Donorfy
- Preferences Update Reason - this is the reason associated with the update - it is optional
- This is a drop down box of the active reasons within Donorfy
- Preference Update Consent Statement - this is the consent statement associated with the update
- This is a drop down box of the active consent statements within Donorfy - this should be uploaded into Donorfy before entering details on this form so it is available for selection
