JustGiving - FAQs: Error message received logging in - unauthosrized

If you receive an error message when testing your JustGiving settings stating that:

"The test failed - this is the message we got back - Could not retrieve JustGiving payment summary - status code Forbidden - this may a problem with your Api Key or Charity Id...."

or 

"The test failed - this is the message we got back - Could not retrieve JustGiving payment summary - status code Unauthorized- this may a problem with your name or password...."

This message suggests that the user credentials to log in to JustGiving are incorrect or are not authorised for the JustGiving API plan. 

Firstly, double-check that your credentials are correct and there are no erroneous spaces in the fields. 

If all is correct and the test still fails, then it may be that the JustGiving API has not been fully activated on your JustGiving account. This article from JustGiving provides more info on how to resolve this issue.
