Trigger Actions (Email)

Follow

Action type - Email User

The Email User action will send an email from your Email Server Settings to any or multiple users listed within your Donorfy and is available for the Constituent, Transaction, Activity, and RPI trigger types.

The email subject and body have the ability to add {Placeholders} which will populate with the relevant information for whatever triggered the trigger. For a full list of trigger placeholders see here.

Note: Emails are sent via your email server settings so if not set up correctly and authenticated, the emails will not send.

As with all triggers, conditions can be set via lists. This allows for emails to be targeted on certain filters, so you are able to send different emails based on any sort of filtering available.

For example: if a constituent has made a new donation of £1000, a different email template can be sent for a constituent donating £5. Or a different email can be sent based on the location of the constituent added.

In the example below the Trigger email is to be sent for a donation received:

This will result in an email being sent to a user similar to this.

Action type - Email Constituent

The Email Constituent action will send an email from your email server settings to the constituent who caused the trigger. This trigger is available on Constituent, Transaction, Activity, and RPI trigger types. The email subject and body have the ability to add {Placeholders} which will populate with the relevant information for whatever triggered the trigger. For a full list of trigger placeholders see here.

This will result in an email being received by the constituent like this.

Please note that each transaction is made up of two sections; one for the Payment and one for the Allocation. So if this is not specified in list conditions, two emails will send for each transaction. Simply add type = Payment/Allocation as a filter.

Triggers emails themselves do not check purposes and channels. This should be done in the condition section within the list.
