The Reasons for cancel, lapse etc. is a multi-use setting. The reasons are used in the following areas: 

• Archiving Constituents
• Preference Update Centre
• Recurring Payment Instructions (RPIs)
• Memberships

To add a Reason

• Open Settings > Configuration > Reasons for cancel, lapse etc

You will see two options under two Settings areas - both of these options are actually the same setting. so either can be clicked on to open the Reasons for cancel, lapse etc.

• Click on the + icon to the right of the screen
• Enter the description for the Reason being added
• Ensure it is set to Active
• Click on Save Changes

The Reason will then be available for use within your Donorfy within the following areas:

• Archiving Constituents
  
• Preference Update Centre
  
  
  
  This will then be shown in the Preference History tab as below:

  • Open RPI, Manage > Cancel
    
    
    
  • Open RPI, Manage > Pause
    
    
    
• Memberships
  • Open Membership, Manage > Cancel
    
  • Open Membership, Manage > Pause
    

Reporting on Reasons in Lists

In your List, click on the data field selector icon, and type 'Reason' into the search field - depending on the List Type, the options will then be displayed:

• Constituent List

• Recurring Payment Instruction List

• Membership and Members List
